6 ways to boost your energy at home

With the recent happenings, your way of life has completely changed. Your “new normal” means a new routine. For most, the number one priority is staying healthy and protected from sickness. Here are 6 ways to boost your energy at home while boosting your health & immune system in the process!

#1 Reduce Stress
Being stuck in a confined space can be very stressful, whether you are stuck with family/roommates or you’re by yourself. We suggest you make time for doing whatever relaxes you. That could be as easy as sunbathing, doing an at-home workout, meditation, reading or even hopping on a live chat with some friends and family. Each day, you should prioritize your favorite activities to reduce your stress and maintain a positive mental state.

#2 Fuel Your Body With Good Nutrition
Now is not the time to fill up on comfort food. After all, abs are made in the kitchen right? Just because you don’t have access to your favorite gym, doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your health & fitness goals. Do your best to incorporate whole foods with a balanced macro plan. This will also play a major role in your immune support and strengthen your ability to fight infection, should it come knocking on your door.

#3 Listen To Your Body For Hunger Cues
Starting a crash diet isn’t the best idea while you’re stuck at home. Make sure you are eating enough (not too much but also not too little) which will help curb cravings. Over eating can not only make you feel tired and sluggish, but it can add more stress to your mental state as you slip further and further away from your health goals. Overeating will be counteractive to Rule #1, so make sure you listen to your body.

#4 Stay Active
Take a walk, ride a bike, do an at-home workout, take on some chores, or do anything that gets your blood flowing. Physical activity can help enhance your blood flow and release endorphins (one of many neurotransmitters) to help your mood and energy levels. We offer a number of At-Home workouts for you to watch and follow along with here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBJeGBSw8PI

 #5 Get Enough Sleep
Keep your sleep schedule the same. Your sleep routine is vital to your mental state and physical recovery. This includes taking a cat nap in the middle of the day if needed. I suggest finding a place where you can elevate your feet and close your eyes for 10-20 minutes. Even if you don’t fall asleep all the way, you will feel rejuvenated when you get up. Your screen time might increase during this quarantine period, so make sure you avoid the screen / blue light close to bedtime.

#6 Sip On An Immune Boosting Energy Shake
Grab your blender, your favorite MAN Sports Shaker and follow these steps:
